It is with great regret that we have to record the passing on 25th January 2020 of one of the great pioneers of the flavour industry and co-founder of the British Society of Flavourists - Henry Heath OBE.

We were informed by Henry's nephew Chris Sweeney, who wrote "I do not need to tell you what a truly remarkable man he was. Son, husband and uncle; pharmacist, soldier, pioneer in the fields of food science and technology; active member of his local community and church, as well as being a key point in the vast family into which he married. Kind, incredibly generous, loving and on occasion, in the words of one of my sons, just hilarious, he will be missed by family and friends alike.....at well over 100, Henry had lived an incredible life. A remarkable man".

In 2019, on to celebrate Henry's 100th birthday, Chris also shared with the Society this charming biography (login required).
